| Abersoch
The Abersoch golf course was designed by Harry Vardon in 1907. He
was one of golf's famous. He won The Open Championship six times,
the last at Prestwick in 1914. Harry Vardon described the original
course as 'The finest 9 hole course in Wales'.
These old postcards show a view over the old 9 holes, the first
showing the clubhouse, car park and distant view of the course.
The second showing a remarkably unchanged view of the old 7th hole
(now the 14th green).
Those nine holes have now been extended over parkland to eighteen
holes fulfilling one of Harry Vardon's dreams.
Clwb Golf Abersoch has been voted as the 5th best golf course the
UK in it's category by Today's Golfer Magazine.
In the December edition of Today's Golfer Magazine we have been
placed 5th in their Category 1 Dream Courses Rankings (£25
and under Green Fee)
The club feels very proud of this achievement and all members and
regular players agree that their long and best kept secret is out!
As you can see from the Top 10 list Abersoch offers you an excellent
chance to sample one of the best courses, we are within easy reach
of The Midlands, The North West, Ireland and Wales.
